Weare writing to assure you that as a patient at any of the offices of Carolina Back Institute, you have not been exposed to a contaminated steroid solution while receiving a spinal injection.
The recent multi-state illnesses and deaths attributed to Methylprednisolone from the New England Compounding Pharmacy of Framingham, Massachusetts are indeed tragic. Carolina Back Institute uses betamethasone for their epidural steroid injections.
For over ten years, the Carolina Back Institute clinics have formed a close working relationship with Triangle Compounding Pharmacy, using them as the sole source for the steroid solutions used in performing our spinal injection procedures. Because of the superior standard of practice Triangle Compounding Pharmacy uses in their drug compounding facility, their continuous quality control protocols, and their accredited status in this state, our Carolina Back Institute clinics have complete confidence that every possible measure is taken to ensure drug integrity and patient safety. We will continue every effort to be certain this excellent relationship continues.
